Spring Capsule Wardrobe for the UK

Moving to Europe, I could only bring what would fit in my two suitcases and backpack. And because I am here for a year, I needed to pack for every season: fall in Spain, winter in Switzerland/UK, spring in Ireland, summer in Italy, etc. This left me having to create capsule wardrobes for each season with as many overlapping pieces as possible. While this is an extreme way to do my first capsule wardrobe, it has helped me to really define my style, and every piece I’ve packed I know I will get a lot of wear out of.

I would define my style as classic and comfortable, which mostly neutrals and an occasional pop of color (blues and greens are my preference). Capsule wardrobes work best with neutral pieces that compliment almost every item so you can make a variety of outfit combinations. You probably already have most of these items in your closet already, or could find from a thrift store or ethical clothing brand. Spring weather in the UK varies weekly: there will be chilly days and then mild warmer days, but always with rain showers. So with each item, also imagine them with an umbrella.
